Synthography
Synthography is an ongoing generative-art project exploring what happens when programmatic image manipulation meets a structured, categorized approach to visual composition.
The project started as a set of small scripts that transform and recombine images algorithmically — adjusting color, structure, and form through code rather than by hand. Rather than generating images at random, each piece is built from a categorized set of visual building blocks, so the output stays intentional even as the process stays generative.
The name is a play on "synthesis" and "photography" (or graphy, more broadly): images synthesized from underlying visual categories and rules, rather than captured directly from the world.
It's a hobby that sits comfortably between the analytical and the creative — the same instinct that drives careful data analysis applied instead to color, shape, and composition.
